Trash and Treasure Find

Hello again!  Look what I found at a huge "Thrift Shop" in Phelps, WI that my mom happens to run, clean, arrange, etc, etc.

Why the excitement over 2 empty jars, empty spools, and some old needles and not so old basket?  I got it all for 2 bucks!

I have had a long love for jars with lids that attach.  Not sure why, but they just "speak" to me.

I was just sitting on the shelf
mourning my plight
empty once again and pushed out of sight
discarded by my owner, emptied of my lot
people walking past me,  Will I ever be bought?

I thought she saw me when she thrust out her hand
but then she grabbed my neighbor and left me on the stand.
I could tell she was excited, she said she just had to have this
but then she looked up and saw me...I would not be missed.

She gasped with delight and put me in her basket
took me to the counter and then out of sight.
Now I have a home and full of buttons I am.
Useful once again, yes I'm the man!

As for the Wooden Spools, I just got MaryJane's Farm magazine and there was such a sweet piece on wooden spools and the memories it brought back for the writer, that I had to have these.  I think I will wrap them with my favorite ribbon from May Arts.  And the partial picture fo the lady houses needles; it reminded me of some GCD cardstock we carry at Paper Studio.

At any rate, hope you enjoyed my post, original poem, and musings.  I posted a project on my project blog if you want to check it out.

Until next time........
